Energy Efficient Boilers

Boilers account for around 55% of a households annual energy bill, so having a new energy efficient boiler is a great way of slashing the cost of your monthly energy bills,

Replacing your boiler for a new A Rated boiler could save you up to £310 per year off of your energy bill (source Energy saving trust) below are examples of savings that can be made when comparing the efficiencies of new boilers compared to older models,

Old boiler rating

Annual saving

Carbon dioxide saving per year

G ( < 70%) £310 1,200kg
F (70–74%) £205 810kg
E (74–78%) £155 610kg
D (78–82%) £105 430kg

Installing Energy Efficient Boilers in the Leicestershire & Northamptonshire area has been Lewington Heating‘s field of expertise over the last 30 years. Whether it be a replacement Gas, Oil or LPG system Lewington Heating can install the right system for you.

Why are they more efficient?

All modern boilers are now condensing boilers which make them a lot more efficient than the older regular boilers. Older boilers allow both hot and cold gasses to escape through the flue where as Condensing boilers will only allow the cooler gasses to escape, using the heat produced by the hotter gasses to further increase their efficiency.

When the escaping cool gasses are sufficiently cold, they condense and more energy is recovered by the boiler from the condensed gasses, again increasing boiler efficiency.

Older regular boilers can be as little as 60% efficient. Every Worcester Greenstar boiler is designed to be highly efficient – they turn more of the fuel they use into heat and hot water for your home. If you would like to read more please visit Lewington Heating’s website at:
